Peridot and Pearls and More

Above: a custom piece I made for a special client with Peridot and Pearls and sterling silver. She was delighted with it.

When I saw these pearls at a bead show, I knew I had to have them. My creative spirit was dancing with the possibilities. I had to go back three times though before I actually got them. They are a gorgeous light iridescent rose/taupe colour – it’s hard to describe the colour or to do justice to it in this photo. The pearls are Keshi Petal Pearls and they do indeed look like flower petals. I paired three strands of the pearls with one strand of round Smoky Quartz stones – a match made in heaven enlivened by Sterling Silver rings to join the strands. I designed this especially for my Pop Up Shop that I did earlier in the spring and it did not stay in the shop long. It was bought and given as a Mother’s Day gift.

To the right is a double strand Freshwater Pearl bracelet so it’s a 6-strand bracelet. The pearls are a yummy greyish blue-ish taupe with heavy-duty serious hardware in gold tones. The view below highlights the hardware. The really neat thing about this bracelet? You can also wear it as a choker with the added clasp! Talk about versatility. This coral necklace is a brilliant red with coconut rings and some vintage brass chain. It’s a great piece for summer and looks terrific with white. I’ll have this at my booth at the Aboriginal Pavilion at Fort York – the biggest Indigenous arts and culture festival. Lots of the best of Indigenous entertainment and arts and crafts. I’ll be in the Arts Marketplace for 11 days starting July 16 until the 26 and I’ll be there from 11:00 am till 11:00 pm. All of the entertainment is free and it’s being held to coincide with the Toronto Pan Am Games. I checked the long-range weather forecast and the weather will be brilliant – just a few showers but nothing to worry about.
