Indigenous & Ingenious is Coming!

November 21 & 22, 2015

A bigger version of I & I is coming, this time instead of just 4 artists, we’ll have 15 artists! Just in time for your holiday gift shopping.

Mark these dates – Saturday November 21 and Sunday November 22 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Ralph Thornton Centre, 765 Queen Street East. That’s just east of Broadview, right on the Queen streetcar line. There’s a multitude of ways to get there on TTC. There is also Green ‘P’ parking on Broadview just a little north of Queen on the east side.

We will have painters, soapstone carvers, weavers and textile artists, beadwork artists, leatherwork artists, and more. Here’s the poster. I’ll be set up with my jewellery too. Just to mention some of the featured artists: Jay Soule, Jay Bell Redbird, Naomi Smith, Clayton Samuel King, Ryan Hill and more. They’re all listed on the poster. Also – a culinary artist who’s creating an Aboriginal fusion menu especially for I & I. Take-out will be available. Chef Charles Catchpole is his name. Check out our Facebook page for almost daily updates and profiles of artists.

Oops! I almost forgot. Kim Wheatley and her daughter Alex will be drumming, singing and doing traditional dance demos throughout the day. Talented, beautiful ladies who love to share their culture and traditions.

Admission is free. Everyone is welcome. And we’ll have draws for door prizes hourly. A feast for all of your senses – that’s I & I. November 21 and 22. See you there.
