The Prize and the Winner

The Prize

I had an absolutely free draw for shoppers – no obligation to buy – when I did the Aboriginal Week show at the federal government buildings in Gatineau in May. The prize – shown below – was a necklace with wire-wrapped Smoky Topaz, brass hardware and leather. The necklace, valued at $185. is adjustable. So many women commented that it was a striking piece.

I did the draw at the end of the week-long show and Lindsay, pictured below wearing the prize, was the lucky winner. She was thrilled with her win. I was thrilled when I found out she also grew up in Manitowaning on Manitoulin Island. She now works for Aboriginal Affairs which will always known to First Nations people as INAC or Indian Affairs.

The necklace looks lovely on her and she’s told me she’s received so many compliments on it. Many thanks to my nephew Clark for delivering Lindsay’s prize to her safely!
