Indigenous & Ingenious

A great show – once again! – last week at The Gladstone Hotel. The Gladstone was buzzing thanks to Indigenous & Ingenious, Contact International Photography Fesitival and several other events that seemed to draw in half of Toronto. Meegwetch, thank you to everyone who stopped in to Studio 207 to shop, chat, visit, and to ooh and aah over all that we had on display. Here’s a photo of the four muskateers.

Display of Necklaces designed by Barb Nahwegahbow at Indigenous & Ingenious Spring Show

Here’s a display of some necklaces I’ve designed that all feature a vintage component. Vintage resin chain, or brass chain paired with Tagua Nut, or a Jasper heart in tones of reds and browns, or Smoky Topaz drops, or coral.

Now, aren’t you sorry you missed our show? There’s always next time.

The bracelets below also feature vintage components. The top one has two strands of vintage gunmetal chain and I’ve added resin chain and a strand of grey-black pearls. There’s a lock encrusted with Swarovski crystals and I’ve even included two keys that open the lock. It all comes together with a ring clasp.

The bracelet in the middle has vintage brass chain and two strands of resin. It also comes with a lock.

The bottom bracelet is vintage chain with an assortment of vintage hearts that I’ve picked up in my travels and my forays into antique markets. In keeping with the theme, I’ve added a heart-shaped clasp.

These bracelets are fun pieces to wear. And they’re also statement pieces.
